Silkies!
Silkies make lovely backyard pets or fit in well in to an already established flock. They are small docile birds making them great for petting, carrying and to have around children.
They get along with other animals and are used to being around ducks, dogs and children.
They have fluffy feet, making them very unique to your standard chicken. Easy to handle, entertaining to own and easy to build a relationship with.
